Master of Sustainable Agriculture (MSAg)
The Master of Sustainable Agriculture (MSAg) is a 16-month course-based master’s program, building on the Ontario Agricultural College’s multi-disciplinary expertise in agriculture to develop highly skilled graduates who will contribute to various facets of the agri-food sector as leaders in sustainable agriculture and food in Canada and abroad. The program begins with a summer semester at Ridgetown Campus, where students benefit from living and learning in the rural Canadian agri-food context through on-campus classes with field trips, cohort-based activities, and local industry- and community-engagement. Following this, students spend two semesters completing coursework in Guelph, where they have the option of specializing their studies in one of the three fields: Livestock Agriculture; Environmental Sciences; or Plant Agriculture. Learning culminates in completion of a 12–16-week internship, through which students will develop their professional skills and reflect on how their classroom knowledge can or could be implemented toward finding creative solutions to address the complex issues the agricultural sector is facing and will continue to face.
