Master of Professional Accounting, MPAcc

The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) is a professional course-based master’s program designed for those pursuing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. The program will be delivered through face-to-face instruction, and students will have the option of completing the program over two semesters of full-time study or one semester of full-time study followed by two semesters of part-time study, which will enable concurrent employment for those who seek it. By combining the conceptual and quantitative elements of accounting while promoting the integration of theory and practice, the MPAcc provides students with an advanced systemic understanding of financial accounting and managerial accounting, fulfilling the requirements of professional accounting standards defined by the CPA Canada Competency Map for the first four modules of the Professional Education Program (PEP). Students will develop the technical, analytical, evaluative, leadership, and communication skills needed for a successful career in accounting and related management areas, and graduates will be on-track toward gainful employment in Canada, post-graduation.
