Forensic Science, MScFS
The Master of Science in Forensic Science is a one-year, professional course-based program designed for students interested in pursuing a professional career in the forensic sciences. The program combines academic instruction with practical application and professional orientation. Students are provided with an understanding of the value of research and case-specific experimentation as well as nurturing and developing effective communication techniques to present technical scientific analysis to scientific and non-scientific audiences. The program consists of three terms; courses in terms 1 and 2 are designed for students to learn and implement best practices in crime scene investigation as well as forensic biology, toxicology, physical sciences and expert witness testimony. The final term will be a designated full-time project, where students will complete an independent research project at a recognized academic, private or public sector institution.
