The BSc Financial Analytics program enables students to obtain a foundation in the theory, practice and analytical techniques required to understand, model, and solve complex financial problems in the modern world of finance. Students will understand the role of financial theory for the functioning of modern business and society, grasp the mathematical basis for financial models, and understand the limitations of financial theory and models. The program provides students with an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach based in quantitative sciences, drawing from accounting, economics, finance, mathematical modelling, computing and statistics. Students will use real-time market data to work on implementing financial models; they will come to understand financial models as they gain hands-on experience through the application of quantitative skills, economic reasoning, computational expertise, and numerical modelling skills.
