Fees
The fees charged to universities to support the Quality Council are subject to approval by both the Budget and Audit Committee and Board of Directors of the Council of Ontario Universities (COU).
The fee is structured in two components:
University Assessment Fee: Each university is assessed an annual fee to cover the budgeted costs of operating the Quality Assurance Secretariat, which supports the work of the Quality Council and its Audit and Appraisal Committees, among other sector-wide quality assurance related work. The total budgeted amount is allocated to individual universities according to the same formula used to calculate the COU membership fee.
Service Fees: Separately from the assessment fee, each university pays service fees that provide for costs arising from the work of the Appraisal Committee and Audit Committee that a particular university generates.
