Masters in Mineral Exploration and Resource Management, MMERM
The program is a fully online, course-based Master’s in Mineral Exploration and Resource Management. It is designed to provide a course of study on the science and practice of mineral exploration. Graduates will learn the mineral systems models for a large array of major mineral deposit types and best practices in exploration to find and characterize such deposits in safe, ethical and cost-effective ways. Graduates will be able to make preliminary estimates of the value and likely market potential of mineralization ranging from early-stage exploration projects to mineral resources at the feasibility study stage. Furthermore, they will develop an understanding of the legal, social, ethical, and financial context in which private and public companies operate. One of the key focuses of the program is the recognition of the importance of stakeholder engagement and consultation, with particular attention to the need to consult Indigenous peoples who may be affected by exploration or mining activities.
