Master of Development Practice and Global Justice, MDPGJ
The Master of Development Practice and Global Justice (MDPGJ) is a course-based master’s program focusing on development practice through a global justice lens; it prepares students to start or continue their careers in development and related professions. Core courses provide training in: anti-racist and decolonial development policy and practice; the use of applied statistical methods in program evaluation; intersectional analysis in development (with a focus on youth and gender); and justice and inclusion. The program features a capstone course, in which students gain professional experience by participating in a community-engaged partnership with an external development organization. Additionally, through a series of career development workshops, students learn directly from practitioners and develop a professional portfolio that will prepare them for entry to the job market. The program offers a set of skills, experiences and insights for thinking critically and proactively about the challenge of engaging in and working on humanitarian and development challenges in Canada and internationally.
