This teaching degree program compresses two years of academic study into 14 months, plus an additional placement. Students with an appropriate undergraduate degree or college diploma or degree, plus sufficient work experience in their trade, will be prepared to teach the Ontario Technological Education curriculum in Ontario high schools. The program incorporates two placements totaling 80 days of practice teaching; after the first 10 days of placement, and once students have demonstrated sufficient growth and knowledge, they can apply to the Ontario College of Teachers for a Multi-Session Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration, so that they can be hired to teach while they complete their studies. Graduates will be recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for permanent certification.
