Doctorate in Applied Behaviour Analysis, AbaD
Brock’s Doctorate in Applied Behaviour Analysis (AbaD) is a professional doctorate with a complementary trajectory to our current Master of Applied Disability Studies degree, which has a specialization in ABA. Currently, there are no ABA doctoral programs in Ontario and only one other in Canada. Education in ABA leads to professional certification for most in the field. The program will provide a unique ABAI accredited program in which our graduates are successful in becoming Board Certified Behavior Analysts at the doctoral level (i.e., BCBA-DTM).Faculty will conduct cutting-edge interdisciplinary clinical research and train our students as scientist-practitioners. Outcomes here will include: community/partnership grants obtained; collaborations with hospitals, community agencies, and other researchers in different disciplines; faculty and student presentations and publications, and graduates continuing to engage in scholarly activities (e.g., clinical research, teaching, knowledge transfer) as practitioners. The program will provide a variety of experiential learning opportunities to our students and augment existing behaviour analytic services to the community through a Brock University ADS clinic offering specialized clinical services and practica with community behaviour analysts. The AbaD program will offer professionals in the field the advanced degree that they will need for growth and progression in the profession.
