Through the BSc Honours Data Science degree program, students will gain the knowledge and experience in data analysis, statistical and information management techniques, including programming, visualization, and predictive modelling in the digital and business world. Students will explore the evolution of data science, use statistical concepts and techniques to represent information received, apply data management systems and technologies in organizations, and predict trends and represent big data findings visually to key stakeholders. This degree is unique in that it requires students to pick an “area of focus” such as business, economics, environmental science, history, mathematics, or sociology, in which to apply their data analytics skills.  Students also have the opportunity to, with a few additional courses, complete a minor in the chosen focus area. This degree will prepare students for challenging opportunities in the field of data science and big data analytics across application domains.
