Master of Financial Innovation and Technology, MFIT
The Master of Financial Innovation and Technology (MFIT) is a one-year professional program that provides students with a solid understanding of finance, data science, and new and innovative technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. The MFIT program trains students to become innovators and leaders in the financial sector. The program will cover how finance and financial institutions have changed and are changing, how the financial value chain is being disrupted by nimble technology-based innovators, the changing skills required to be successful, and what the future may bring in the ever-changing world of finance and technology. Students will be exposed to linkages between new phenomena and classical finance theory that will highlight the divergence between predictions and reality. The program will study both the good and bad, regulatory aspects, and whether or not these innovations are exploiting or supporting “social welfare”. The program will include access to finance specific data provided by industry which will allow students to work on current and relevant issues using the state-of-the-art data science techniques. Graduates will possess the unique combination of skills consisting of a deep understanding of financial models, data science, and new technologies that will allow them to create and lead innovation in the financial sector.
