Biomedical Informatics, GDip (Type 1) and GDip (Type 3)
The Biomedical Informatics Graduate Diploma program is a four-month, full time course-based program developed by Queen’s School of Computing and the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences (DBMS). The program consists of 12 units (four courses), one of which requires a final written paper on biomedical informatics.
The GDip program is primarily aimed at recently graduated students (BSc. Honours) in biology, biochemistry, life and medical sciences, or a related field. The focus of this program is on the application of existing tools and techniques for managing and analyzing biomedical data. The main goal of the GDip is to train students to have command of knowledge in the area of biomedical informatics so that they can apply computational tools to analyze the data in their disciplines.
Completion of the Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Informatics provides advanced standing in the Professional Master’s in Biomedical Informatics program, which involves another six units of coursework (two courses) and a Master’s project.
