The Professional Master’s in Biomedical Informatics program is a 12-month, full time program developed by Queen’s School of Computing and the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences (DBMS). The program consists of 24 units—six courses and a Master’s project.

The GDip program is primarily aimed at recently graduated students (BSc. Honours) in biology, biochemistry, life and medical sciences, or a related field. The aim of this program is to train future data scientists to translate data into knowledge that can transform how health care is approached and delivered. The Master’s program builds on the knowledge acquired in the GDip program by providing opportunities and mentorship for students to conduct projects in biomedical and molecular science and to develop skills in database development and management, data analysis of complex biomedical databases, advanced techniques in computing, and/or biomedical or molecular sciences.
