Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship, MEIE
Grounded in Lean Startup methodology, the MEIE program enables engineering students and industry professionals to advance their own research, tap into leading faculty-based research, or work on industry-identified customer’s challenges, in the fields of Biomedical Engineering, Energy & Sustainability, and Emergent Technology. By integrating lecture-based and practicum learning experiences, the program builds student capacity to design the legal, technical, and business structures that form successful technology ventures. Students will learn to manage projects with critical time demands, regulatory issues and large growth potential. The program prepares students for success and resiliency in entrepreneurship, venture capital, new business development, and other related fields. This program also is ideal for students seeking a competitive advantage in industry by understanding how to drive disruptive innovation and establish new business ventures within existing companies. Unique in its methodology and focus, the MEIE program also provides resources essential for student success including; a network of experienced business and technical mentors, state-of-the-art incubator space, and a seed funding grant competition to support venture growth.
