Child and Youth Care, MA
The MA in Child & Youth Care provides professional practice-oriented training and research skills for individuals working with young people with complex needs, social and emotional difficulties, mental health challenges, or otherwise affected by trauma and adversity. Graduates will be able to work in clinical, human service and policy settings on multi-disciplinary teams to create client-level or systemic change. The program includes three streams of concentration: clinical practice, management and policy development stream, and research. The program provides advanced theoretical and practice learning in highly specialized courses, a field placement in a professional practice, policy or research setting, and the completion of a research-focused MRP. This program provides for full-time and part-time, in class and online options for completion of all requirements, with residency required for the first term only.
