Policing, BA (Honours)

The Honours Bachelor of Arts in Policing is a fully online undergraduate degree delivered through the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at the Brantford campus of Wilfrid Laurier University. The online mode of delivery is designed to meet the demands of students’ work schedules, and to make the degree available to officers from across the country. Students admitted to this program must have a related college diploma and be serving police officers with a minimum of one year experience. Students are also required to complete the Ontario Police College (OPC) Front Line Supervisor course through the Ontario Police College in order to graduate. The BA in Policing includes courses in leadership and management, ethics, diversity and Indigenous policing that are relevant for the needs and careers of police officers and others working closely with a diverse population. In addition, courses dealing with social and community psychology, as well as mental health awareness and management will round out a curriculum that speaks to the whole student and addresses the needs of a demanding society.
