Water Sciences, BSc

The Water Sciences curriculum is designed to ensure that students gain a broad foundation in the scientific disciplines and related policy fields that are relevant to water and the aquatic environment. As such, the proposed curriculum is designed to require students to take courses from across Environmental and Resource Science/Studies, Geography, Chemistry, and Biology. The interdisciplinary curriculum will ensure that graduates of the program have a broad, yet in-depth understanding of (i) the basic mechanics of water movement within the environment, (ii) the factors affecting its chemical and physical quality, (iii) its feedbacks within the climate system, (iv) the biological and ecological importance and functions of water, (v) its suitability as biological habitat or for human use and (vi) policies relating to the governance and management of freshwater resources.
