Conflict Studies, PhD

The goal of the PhD program in Conflict Studies is to prepare candidates for a career in teaching, research and leadership in conflict analysis with a special focus on four interrelated themes: ethnic, religious, moral and social justice dimensions of conflicts. It will be offered bilingually on a full-time basis.

Graduates of the PhD program will be prepared to:

  • generate original, theoretically informed analyses based on in-depth knowledge of the ethnic, religious, moral and social justice dimensions of conflicts; and
  • design and conduct research that contributes to the in-depth understanding and advancement of the knowledge of one or more of these facets of conflicts within the field of Conflict Studies.

These objectives are achieved through formal course work, doctoral seminars, comprehensive exams and a dissertation.
