The MMB program will provide students with a solid foundation and understanding of key biochemical and biotechnological concepts. Topics that will be covered include protein and nucleic acid chemistry, molecular and cell biology, molecular basis of diseases, biological mass spectrometry, lipid biochemistry, drug design and diagnostics. This will be reinforced and enhanced through complementary practical hands-on experimentation using industrially applicable biotechnology laboratory techniques in combination with state-of-the-art equipment as used in medical-related biotechnology industries.

Students will also receive business training and development experience thus gaining a deeper understanding of the overall discovery, development and commercialization process. Consequently, this program will address the need for highly trained personnel with a broad range of knowledge and skills of particular importance and relevance to biotechnology industries that will enable them to pursue successful careers in this field.
